Chelsea Lea is a third generation metalsmith, with a Bachelor’s degree in jewelry design from the University of Georgia.
From a very young age she began learning jewelry design from her mother and grandmother.
Her education also includes courses in jewelry fabrication from GIA, and as assistant teacher at Penland School of Crafts.
She is also the current instructor of silversmithing at Brunswick Community College. Her work is often times inspired
by nature, and her holistic views of her surroundings. Using found objects or unusual macabre forms is sometimes found in her work.
Chelsea Lea is a Wilmington NC studio artist, and has been living here for 4 years. She is focused in designing one of a kind wearable art jewelry.
Each piece of jewelry is individually hand crafted from precious materials. Please contact New Elements Gallery if you are interested in a custom design.
