Mixed media piece by Nathan Ryan Verwey for sale at New Elements Gallery

Local UNCW alumnus Nathan Ryan Verwey’s show “Angels with Dirty Faces” kicks off our Fourth Friday series in January 2019! Nathan’s work is street inspired art that features great color; he also does stirring portraits that spin the imagination featuring the famous and the nameless. It is Nathan’s debut show at New Elements; his work is edgy and street wise.  In this show Nathan explores some famous icons, known for their celebrity and good works, and asks the question: “What is the dirt on this person’s face?”  There are also a number of unnamed figures that are shrouded in mystery as to what their sins might be, real or perceived.
